Tak lebih dari satu bulan lagi, tepatnya pada tanggal 6-10 November 2009, sebuah event internasional yakni Kongres Vegetarian Asia ke-4 (The 4th Asian Vegetarian Congress) akan diselenggarakan di Pulau Batam, Provinsi Kepulauan Riau, Indonesia, dengan tema “Vegetarian: Healthy & Eco-friendly for All”.

Lebih dari 35 ilmuwan, akademisi dan pakar kesehatan, lingkungan hidup dan hak azasi hewan dunia, telah setuju untuk hadir di kongres ini. Termasuk peraih Nobel Perdamaian Tahun 2007, Dr.Rajendra Pachauri, yang juga Ketua Panel Antarpemerintahan soal Perubahan Iklim Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa atau IPPC PBB, akan hadir membahas masalah pemanasan global. selain Dr.Rajendra Pachauri, pembicara lain dalam kongres itu adalah mantan ilmuwan NASA, Prof. Dr. Art-Ong Jumsai dari Thailand. Jamboe Hijau is a cafe that sells a variety of vegetarian food and is the only one in Aceh. There are special menus such as chikpea soup, minestrone soup, stier fried rice, spicy lentil soup, rice combo, tempe burger, veggie steak, salad plate, vegetable curry india, and many others. Also available hot beverages such as coffee aceh, arabica coffee, coffee lafazza, hot chocolate, pepermint chamomile tea, japanese green tea, osmanthus tea, jasmine tea, lavender tea, ginseng tea, apple flower tea, green tea, tea herval mixed. And of course the variety of juice available for those who like to drink cold. The price of food and drink ranges from three thousand to twenty thousand rupiah.
