Sambal Pecel is an Indonesian sauce based on peanuts. Madiun and Blitar in East Java is very popular for their sambal pecel. It is commonly served over boiled vegetables. It it similar to the sauce used in Gado-gado.

Sambal Pecel (Peanut Condiment) represents of food flavour which made from peanut, chili, palm sugar, lime leaf ( or its fruit), sour fruit, and salt. Sambal Pecel is used for food flavour which served with vegetables and some traditional food like tempeh, tofu, peyek, and other food.

Sambal pecel on the market may contain a bit of onion or garlic, so it is not suitable for the vegetarian who does not eat onion and garlic.
